CAN I HAVE A WHITE FILLING?
In most instances, yes you can, white fillings are a great aesthetic alternative to the old silver fillings, however in some cases of advanced tooth destruction your tooth may be unrestorable with a white filling and we may need to consider indirect porcelain alternatives such as crowning, we will always discuss your options to ensure you get the best possible outcome for restoring your smile.
CAN YOU USE FILLINGS TO IMPROVE MY SMILE?
White fillings can be used to improve the aesthetics of the smile. They can be used for direct veneers and build ups to improve the size, shape and colour of the teeth. They can even be used for diastema (gap) closure.
CAN YOU REMOVE MY OLD SILVER FILLINGS?
It is possible for us to remove your old silver fillings and replace them with white fillings where possible or indirect porcelain restorations.
At Dental Options, however we do not advocate the removal of healthy silver fillings as this can pose risks to the underlying tooth i.e. sensitivity, as each time a restoration is removed we lose more tooth structure. As such we typically advised monitoring the silver fillings until they show signs of deterioration, before we would replace them.
